More human remains unearthed in Khojaly PHOTO/VIDEO

On March 28, the Khojaly District Prosecutor's Office received information about the discovery of buried bone fragments and remains, believed to be human.

The press service of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan told Caliber.Az that these fragments were discovered during excavations carried out as part of extensive restoration and rehabilitation works near the reservoir in the Galaderesi area of the liberated town of Khojaly.

On the basis of the information received, employees of the General Prosecutor's Office were sent to the site of the incident. With the participation of employees of the "Association for Forensic Medical Examination and Pathological Anatomy" of the Ministry of Health, the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, the State Commission for Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Citizens, the site of the incident was examined, the discovered bone fragments were seized for examination and laboratory research, and other work was carried out.

The bone fragments found will be seized for examination and laboratory testing, and other necessary procedural steps will be taken.

So far, it has been established that the human remains found belong to at least three individuals.

A full examination of the crime scene is currently underway. The Criminalistics and Information Technology Department of the Prosecutor General's Office has opened an investigation into the case.

The relevant expert investigations will be completed before informing the public of the conclusions.
