Musk explains why his fight with Zuckerberg falls apart
The founder of Tesla and SpaceX, as well as the owner of the social network X, Elon Musk has explained why his fight with American businessman Mark Zuckerberg was derailed.
"At first I offered to hold the fight in the octagon in Las Vegas. And then we were offered the Coliseum option, and I thought it was just impossible to refuse. But Zuckerberg turned it down. Did he say no? Yeah. He said we should fight under UFC rules. I'm ready to fight anytime. I challenge him on any terms," Gazeta.ru quotes Musk as saying in a podcast by Joe Rogan, American comedian, MMA fight commentator and host of the popular podcast Joe Rogan.
Zuckerberg previously claimed that Musk was dodging the fight and would not agree to the date he proposed. In August, Zuckerberg said he was willing to fight Musk on Aug. 26 and that UFC president Dane White supported the idea of making the fight a charity event. However, Musk responded that he needed to undergo back and neck surgery due to an injury sustained in a fight with a sumo wrestler. Musk later offered to hold a practice round in Zuckerberg's backyard.
The fight was initially initiated by Musk, who voiced his displeasure with the launch of the Threads app from Meta (recognized as extremist and banned in Russia), which the network perceived as a Twitter clone. Musk claimed that Zuckerberg was trying to subjugate humanity with his platform.
