Netanyahu, Hungary’s PM-elect Magyar discuss strengthening ties
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a phone call with Hungarian Prime Minister-elect Péter Magyar, during which both sides reaffirmed their intention to develop bilateral relations.
The Israeli side said the conversation was described as “warm and introductory,” according to the Clash Report.
Magyar said he intends to continue close cooperation between Hungary and Israel and invited Netanyahu to events marking the 70th anniversary of the Hungarian Revolution.
In response, Netanyahu welcomed the invitation and invited Magyar to attend an intergovernmental meeting in Jerusalem.
He expressed confidence that the friendly relations established under the previous government of Viktor Orbán would be maintained under the new prime minister as well.
The two sides also agreed on an upcoming meeting between their foreign ministers to further strengthen cooperation between Israel and Hungary.
