Netherlands increases drone coalition funding for Ukraine to €100 million
The Netherlands has raised its financial commitment to supplying drones to Ukraine under the framework of the international “drone coalition,” boosting its contribution from €60 million to €100 million.
The announcement was made by Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Caspar Veldkamp during his remarks at the NATO Public Forum, held alongside the alliance's summit in The Hague, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.
“We are working very closely with Ukraine on initiatives to supply drones, including the ‘drone coalition’,” Veldkamp stated. “Today, we can talk about increasing our contribution to this coalition by €40 million, bringing the total to €100 million.”
According to the minister, Dutch engineers are actively involved in the design and development of new types of drones intended for delivery to Ukraine.
In addition, the Netherlands has opened access to its research infrastructure, including the prominent NLR aerospace centre located in Amsterdam, to support Ukrainian drone production efforts.
The drone coalition, aimed at the development and procurement of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for Ukraine’s military needs, was launched in 2024 by the United Kingdom and Latvia.
Since then, the initiative has expanded to include several other partner countries: Australia, Germany, Denmark, Canada, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Ukraine, Sweden, and Estonia.
