New era for Japanese car manufacturers in US
Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba has stated that during US President Joe Biden's term, Japanese automakers were not eager to establish plants in the US.
He noted that with Donald Trump now in the White House, the situation has changed, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
Ishiba emphasised that regarding job creation in the US by Japanese automakers, he was confident that they had gained the president's understanding.
He also noted that several manufacturers had not expanded in the US during Biden's presidency. He said that with Trump's arrival as president, many Japanese companies announced plans to build plants in various parts of the US.
The prime minister highlighted the significant number of new jobs that would be created through such cooperation. Ishiba noted that from Trump's perspective, this move is directly tied to the revival of the US industry.
Earlier, Trump announced US approval of military supplies to Japan worth $1 billion. Trump said that Japan is one of the biggest buyers of the US military products. He believes that the collaboration between Tokyo and Washington contributes to stability in the Asia-Pacific region.
