11 October 2022 17:07
Ninety-eight miners remain trapped underground due to a power outage caused by Russia’s shelling of Kryvyi Rih.

They are expected to be rescued before 02:00 a.m., October 11, 2022, Kryvyi Rih Military Administration Head Oleksandr Vilkul said on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

According to Vilkul, a total of 854 coal miners were trapped in four mines underground, as Russians launched a missile attack on Kryvyi Rih. Now the challenging rescue operation is near completion.

On October 10, Russian troops fired 18 missiles at the Dnipropetrovsk region. Five of them were shot down by the Ukrainian anti-aircraft defence units. Three Russian missiles were fired at the city of Kryvyi Rih. One of them was shot down, but two Russian projectiles hit the targets.
