No nation can tackle disinformation alone, Kazakh official says in Shusha
Kazakhstan’s First Deputy Minister of Culture and Information, Kanat Iskakov, said international cooperation is essential in the fight against disinformation, speaking at the 4th Shusha Global Media Forum.
“On platforms such as the Shusha Global Media Forum, we must strengthen cooperation in combating disinformation and find joint solutions. It is impossible to fight disinformation alone,” Iskakov said, as reported by local media.
He noted that fake news has always existed, but modern technologies have enabled it to spread much more rapidly, making coordinated efforts to counter disinformation increasingly important.
“Digital platforms play a significant role in the distribution of content. Therefore, they should bear responsibility for the materials they publish and take more active steps to prevent the spread of disinformation and manipulative information. At the same time, users must be provided with reliable and verified information,” he added.
