Number of people missing due to flooding in Valencia may reach 250
Approximately 250 people are reported missing following severe flooding in Valencia, eastern Spain.
Authorities have yet to release an official count of the missing individuals. Spanish Defence Minister Margarita Robles confirmed that many people remain unaccounted for, Caliber.Az reports per Spanish media.
On October 29, the Spanish State Meteorological Agency issued weather alerts for several regions due to heavy rainfall. The southern and eastern areas of Spain have experienced particularly intense downpours, leading to the highest danger level being declared.
At least 155 residents have died in Valencia, where rescuers are still searching for dozens of those who are missing. Additionally, three more fatalities have been reported in other parts of Spain due to the severe weather.
As of November 1, weather warnings continue to be in effect in certain areas, including Valencia.
