21 April 2026 13:31

Azerbaijan’s Special Representative of the President for the Aghdam, Fuzuli, and Khojavand districts, Emin Huseynov, has stated that 2026 will represent the peak of the resettlement process in the country’s liberated territories.

Speaking to journalists, he said that reconstruction and restoration work in the liberated areas is continuing at a rapid pace, Caliber.Az reports per local media.

“Approximately 20,000 people will be resettled in the Aghdam district. At the same time, a total of around 15,000 people are also planned to return to the Khojavand and Fuzuli districts,” he said.

The special representative added that more than 30,000 former internally displaced persons have already returned to the liberated territories.

“More than 70,000 people live, work, and study in these areas. Today, 92 families are being resettled in the city of Aghdam, and this process will continue throughout the year,” he noted.
