Official: Azerbaijan rebuilding Karabakh without foreign aid

Azerbaijan is financing the reconstruction of Karabakh and East Zangezur entirely from its own state budget, the Special Representative of the Azerbaijani President Emin Huseynov has said, underscoring Baku’s emphasis on domestic funding for post-conflict redevelopment. 

Speaking on the sidelines of the UN World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku, Huseynov said the country had so far allocated more than 25 billion manats (over $14 billion) to rebuilding works in the territories, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.

“Azerbaijan is conducting the reconstruction and rehabilitation process in Karabakh and East Zangezur exclusively on its own, without financial support from any international organisations,” he said.
