Official: Azerbaijan to build new railway to Khankendi

Head of the Construction Projects Department of the Azerbaijan Railways company Tural Abbasli has said that the company will begin construction of the Aghdam-Khankendi new railway line in 2024.

“The design of this road has begun, the territory has already been inspected, and a preliminary route for the road has been outlined,” Abbasli noted, Caliber.Az reports.

“The goal of this project is to connect Khankendi and Shusha with the country’s railway network, to efficiently transport passengers and cargo in this direction, which will help fully restore the territories liberated from long-term occupation,” he added.
