OIC conference participants embark on visit to Karabakh
Secretary-General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Hussein Ibrahim Tahi and representatives of the OIC member states, who are in Azerbaijan within the 11th Conference of Ministers of Tourism of the OIC Member States, have begun a visit to the liberated territories of Azerbaijan.
OIC representatives visited the cutting-edge Fuzuli International Airport, the first newly built airfield in Azerbaijan’s liberated lands, Report informs, citing the Azerbaijani State Tourism Agency.
The agency Chairman Fuad Naghiyev informed the delegation members that the international airport that was built within just eight months will play a crucial role in the development of Fuzuli, regional tourism, and the socio-economic development of the region.
A delegation consisting of ministers and deputy ministers of tourism of Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Iran, Gambia, Niger, Malaysia, Sudan, Uganda, Gabon, as well as the president of the Arab Tourism Organisation and ambassadors are expected to inspect cultural monuments, mosques and other cultural heritage sites destroyed in the territories once occupied by Armenia.
