Oil exports increase on Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline
The volume of oil transported through the Georgian section of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline increased.
Report informs that according to a statement released by Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation on Tuesday, a total of 2.4 million tonnes of crude have been transported on the pipeline in March, which is the highest indicator for the first quarter of 2022.
In January and February, supplies via the pipeline stood at 2.3 million tonnes and 2 million tonnes, respectively. The
The Baku-Tbilisi Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline, which became operational in 2006 and measures 1,768 kilometres in length, carries oil from the Azeri-Chirag-Deepwater Gunashli (ACG) field and condensate from Shah Deniz across Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey. It links Sangachal terminal on the shores of the Caspian Sea to Ceyhan marine terminal on the Turkish Mediterranean coast. In addition, crude oil from Turkmenistan continues to be transported via the pipeline. Starting in October 2013, some volumes of Tengiz crude oil from Kazakhstan through have also been added to the BTC pipeline.
