06 January 2026 14:50

Active construction is underway on the Aghdam–Khankendi railway line, with roughly one-third of the project now completed.

Design work for the railway line is 81 percent complete, while construction and installation works have reached 29 percent completion, Caliber.Az reports, citing the press service of Azerbaijan Railways.

The total length of the railway line is 28 kilometres, extending to 30.8 kilometres when including sidings.

The project envisages the construction of three new stations: Askeran, Khojaly, and the Khankendi railway and bus terminal complex.
