OTS Secretary General: Declaring Shusha cultural capital important for entire Turkic world

Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) Kubanichbek Omuraliev has said that declaring Shusha the cultural capital is an important event for the entire Turkic world.

According to APA, Omuraliev made the remarks during his speech at the opening ceremony of the event devoted to declaring Shushi the cultural capital of the Turkic world for 2023.

"The announcement of Shushi as the "cultural capital of the Turkic world" is a very important event not only for Shusha, an ancient Turkic city that has been under occupation for years but also for the whole Turkic world," he stressed.

At the event welcoming speeches were made by the Secretary General of the OTS, Minister of Culture of Azerbaijan Adil Karimli, Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan in Shusha Aydin Kerimov, Secretary General of TURKSOY Sultan Raev, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Russia Polad Bulbuloglu.

Omuraliyev noted that the initiative "cultural capital of the Turkic world" plays an important role in the preservation and promotion of Turkic culture, the sphere of culture is the common identity of Turkic peoples.

The Secretary-General also informed about the projects that the OTS will implement in Shusha during this year and the activities that will be implemented in the future.
