Special Representative of the Azerbaijani President in Lachin district, Masim Mammadov, has announced that plans are underway to resettle 91 families to Baylik village, located near Sus village, by 2025-2026.
Mammadov shared the information during a briefing on the ongoing resettlement efforts in the region, Caliber.Az reports.
To date, approximately 3,200 individuals have been relocated to Lachin district, with 2,100 settling in the city of Lachin and 1,100 in the villages of Sus and Zabukh.
Mammadov highlighted that construction projects are currently in progress in both Gulabird and Baylik villages, with additional plans to develop Gorchu and Shalva villages in the coming years.
On August 25, 2022, the Azerbaijani Army regained full control of Lachin city, along with the adjacent Zabukh and Sus villages.
The First State Program of the Great Return, approved by President Aliyev in November 2022, aims to fast-track the development of infrastructure, housing, and economic opportunities in the liberated regions. By 2027, approximately 3,500 apartments and individual homes are planned to be constructed, enabling the resettlement of 34,500 families of former displaced persons in phases.
