Pakistan condemns Indian PM Modi’s aggressive speech in Gujarat as "reckless provocation" VIDEO
Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry has strongly condemned recent remarks made by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a speech in Gujarat, describing them as a “reckless provocation” that threatens regional stability.
The statements come amid heightened tensions following a military confrontation between India and Pakistan triggered by New Delhi’s unsubstantiated accusations against Islamabad regarding a deadly attack in occupied Kashmir’s Pahalgam earlier this month, Caliber.Az reports, citing Pakistani media.
On the night of May 6-7, India launched a series of air strikes targeting Pakistan, resulting in civilian casualties. Pakistan responded by downing five Indian jets. The two countries exchanged further retaliatory strikes on each other’s airbases and intercepted drones, escalating the conflict until American intervention on May 10 led to a ceasefire.

In a video circulated by Indian news outlet ANI, Prime Minister Modi said: “The people of Pakistan must come forward to rid their country of terrorism. Their youth will have to come forward.” He continued: “Live a life of peace, eat your bread or [choose my] bullet,” drawing applause from a crowd, many of whom wore orange and white outfits.
Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry issued a statement early on May 27, expressing concern over Modi’s rhetoric: “Pakistan has taken note of Modi’s remarks delivered in Gujarat with the theatrical flourish of a campaign rally rather than the sobriety expected of the leader of a nuclear-armed state.”

“The hate-driven invocation of violence in his remarks is deeply disturbing, not only for its content but for the dangerous precedent it sets in a region already burdened by volatility,” the statement added.
The Foreign Ministry further criticised the “continued erosion of maturity and decorum in Indian statecraft,” noting that Modi’s words “blatantly violate” the fundamental principles of the United Nations Charter, which mandates peaceful dispute resolution and prohibits threats or use of force against other states’ sovereignty.
“Pakistan views these remarks as a reckless provocation, intended to distract from the ongoing human rights abuses and demographic engineering in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir,” the statement said.
Highlighting Pakistan’s contributions to international peacekeeping and counter-terrorism, the Foreign Office remarked: “Pakistan’s record as a leading contributor to UN peacekeeping and its consistent cooperation in global counter-terrorism efforts speak louder than any hostile soundbite.”
It also called on the Indian government to address its own internal challenges: “If extremism is indeed a concern for the Indian government, it would do well to turn inward—toward the alarming rise of majoritarianism, religious intolerance, and the systematic disenfranchisement of minorities under the increasingly brutal Hindutva ideology.”
The statement concluded with a firm reminder of Pakistan’s stance on sovereignty and security: “Pakistan remains committed to peace based on mutual respect and sovereign equality. However, any threat to its security or territorial integrity will be met with firm and proportionate measures, in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter.”
In conclusion, Pakistan urged the international community to “take serious note of India’s escalating rhetoric, which undermines regional stability and the prospects for lasting peace.”
