Pakistan successfully tests indigenous Taimoor cruise missile VIDEO
The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has successfully conducted the flight test of its indigenously developed Taimoor Weapon System, marking a major milestone in the country’s aerospace and defence capabilities.
The Taimoor Air-Launched Cruise Missile (ALCM) is designed to engage both land and sea targets with high precision, PAF said on X.
It has a reported range of 600 kilometres and carries a conventional warhead. Equipped with an advanced navigation and guidance system, the missile can operate at very low altitudes, allowing it to evade enemy air and missile defence systems. Defence analysts say this enhances Pakistan’s conventional deterrence and increases operational flexibility for the PAF.
The launch, overseen by senior officers of the Pakistan Armed Forces, was attended by the scientists and engineers who developed the missile. Officials described the test as a demonstration of technical maturity and self-reliance in Pakistan’s defence industry.
Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, congratulated the team, praising their “professional excellence, dedication and unwavering commitment” to strengthening the country’s defence capabilities.
He said the successful test reflects Pakistan’s continued pursuit of technological self-sufficiency and a credible conventional deterrent amid a complex regional security environment.
Military commentators noted that Taimoor’s successful flight test reinforces the PAF’s operational readiness and highlights the strategic role of indigenous missile development in Pakistan’s defence posture.
