Pashinyan: Armenia could end Russian railway concession, but dialogue continues
Armenia could theoretically unilaterally terminate its railway concession agreement with Russia, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said, though the government is not currently considering such a move.
Commenting on negotiations in Moscow, Pashinyan said that the matter of Russia’s concession on Armenia’s railway was thoroughly discussed with Russian counterparts, and both sides agreed to continue the dialogue, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.
“Our problem can be summed up in one phrase: under the current conditions, Armenia is losing its competitive advantages,” Pashinyan said. “We have nothing against Russia and highly value our relationship. However, the current situation limits our options, and we need to find a solution together.”
