Plan for Trans-Caspian International Transport Route approved for 2026
A meeting of the Board and General Assembly of the International Association of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) was held in Astana on April 24, where the work plan for 2026 was approved.
The session brought together representatives of railway operators from Kazakhstan, China, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Türkiye, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Romania, and Singapore, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
A key focus of the approved plan is the digitalisation of transport operations. This includes the introduction of electronic documentation using digital signatures, as well as direct data exchange between customs authorities and all participants in the transport chain.
The measures are expected to reduce cargo transit times and increase transparency across the entire route.
The plan also foresees a significant expansion of container transport volumes, including the movement of up to 600 container trains from China via Kazakhstan in 2026.
It further calls for strengthened coordination between Caspian Sea ports and terminals, alongside optimisation of operational processes at key segments of the corridor.
Following the meetings, a number of documents were signed aimed at further strengthening the TITR as a major transit corridor linking Asia and Europe.
