PM: Armenia fails to guarantee its security
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has said that Armenia's security is not fully ensured.
Pashinyan made the remarks at a meeting with representatives of the Armenian community in Germany, Caliber.Az reports citing the Armenian media.
“I cannot say that today we have already guaranteed the security of our country, especially in the current conditions, when geopolitical upheavals are taking place. Taking into account these realities, we must state that we are in a very dangerous situation,” he noted.
Pashinyan stressed that the authorities know what to do to manage this situation.
In this context, the prime minister emphasised the importance of the peace agenda.
He admitted that there are many risks, and the Armenian side is aware that the peace depends not only on it.
“In general, I must say that it is a very difficult and dangerous period for us. We need maximum seriousness and flexibility to overcome the existing challenges,” Pashinyan said.
The Armenian prime minister added that the international community pays attention to Armenia and the region as a whole and "we should be able to use this attention to achieve long-term solutions and establish peace in the region".
