PM Kobakhidze leads Georgian delegation on official visit to Kazakhstan
Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, has embarked on an official visit to Kazakhstan.
During his visit, Kobakhidze will be received by the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, at the Presidential Palace, Caliber.Az reports referring to Georgian media.
The two-day visit will feature discussions between the Georgian Prime Minister and his Kazakh counterpart, Olzhas Bektenov, both in one-on-one meetings and in an expanded format.
Kobakhidze is accompanied by a high-level Georgian delegation, which includes: First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Levan Davitashvili, Minister of Foreign Affairs Maka Bochorishvili, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Irakli Karseladze, Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture David Songulashvili, Minister of Education, Science and Youth Affairs Alexander Tsuuladze, Minister of Sports Shalva Gogoladze, and Head of the Government Administration Levan Jorjoliani.
Georgia and Kazakhstan established diplomatic relations in July 1992. Since then, the two countries have developed strong cooperation in key areas such as energy, transportation, and agriculture. Kazakhstan has been one of Georgia’s main investors for years, contributing significantly to the sectors of energy and tourism.
In 2024, the trade turnover between the two nations reached over $922 million, marking a 25.3% increase compared to the previous year. Exports from Georgia to Kazakhstan also rose by 22.3%. Kazakhstan remains one of Georgia's top ten trading partners.
