Poland, Lithuania ready to convince NATO to start negotiations on Ukraine’s accession
Poland and Lithuania have expressed their readiness to intensify NATO efforts to start negotiations on Ukraine's entry into the alliance.
This is reflected in a statement of the foreign ministers of Lithuania, Poland and Ukraine on the occasion of the second anniversary of the founding of the Lublin Triangle, European Pravda reports.
“Considering holding of the NATO summit in Vilnius in 2023, the Republic of Poland and the Republic of Lithuania confirm their readiness to intensify discussions within the alliance on inviting Ukraine to start negotiations on joining NATO,” the statement says.
Earlier, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said that Ukraine did not have a chance to join NATO until February 24, 2022, but when Ukraine wins, it may be given alternate security proposals, for example, about NATO.
