Poll shows rising public concern over Lithuania’s direction
A majority of Lithuanians believe the situation in their country has worsened, according to a survey conducted by market and public opinion research firm Baltijos tyrimai.
The survey found that 66% of respondents think the overall situation in Lithuania has been deteriorating in recent times, while only 28% said conditions have been improving, Caliber.Az reports, citing Lithuanian media.
Negative perceptions were particularly pronounced among certain groups. These included people over the age of 50, respondents with the lowest monthly household income (72%), pensioners (74%), workers and farmers (73%), and individuals of other nationalities (76%).
The head of Baltijos tyrimai noted that the survey was largely completed before the outbreak of the conflict involving Iran and its wider consequences, meaning those developments are not yet reflected in the findings.
The poll was conducted between February 19 and March 2 and included 1,014 Lithuanian residents aged 18 and above.
