Presidential rep: Construction of Aghdam Mugham Centre to be completed by end of 2024

Construction of the Aghdam Mugham Centre, the foundation laying of which was attended by President Ilham Aliyev during his visit to Aghdam city, is expected to be completed in late 2024.

Deputy Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan in the liberated territories of the Karabakh economic region (except for the Shusha region), Bashir Hajiyev made the statement while talking to reporters on May 5, Trend reports.

According to him, the Aghdam Mugham Centre will consist of two floors.

"It will provide for the creation of classrooms, dance classes, halls for meetings and large concerts, as well as an open-air amphitheater. At the same time, it is planned to build an underground parking. The completion of construction work is scheduled for the end of 2024," he said.

Hajiyev also spoke about the progress of construction work on other facilities, the foundation of which was laid by President Ilham Aliyev. He noted that construction work continues rapidly.

Immediately after President Ilham Aliyev approved the master plan of Aghdam in May 2021, the foundations of a number of sites were laid and reconstruction and construction work began here, Hajiyev said.

According to him, five residential neighborhoods and 12 villages are to be built in Aghdam.

"During the visit of the head of state to Aghdam on May 2, the foundations of the 2nd and 3rd residential quarters were laid. Their construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2025.

At the same time during his visit, the president laid the foundations of an administrative building. In front of this building, a square will be built for parades. At the same time, parks and playgrounds will be built in the area.

In addition, the head of state laid the foundation stone of the Aghdam mugham center. The construction of the center is planned to be completed by the end of 2024," Hajiyev said.
