Professor: Armenia no more Russia’s ally thanks to PM

Doctor of Political Science at the US Stanford University Arthur Khachikian has said that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stressed that as for Ukraine, Armenia is not an ally of Russia in this issue.

“This is Pashinyan’s another erroneous statement. We shouldn’t be surprised that Russia abandoned Armenia as we did everything possible for Russia not to see us as an ally,” Khachikian said in an interview with the Armenian media, commenting on Pashinyan’s statements on Ukraine, Caliber.Az reports.

“Pashinyan’s actions are wrong. When it’s convenient, you’re an ally, when it’s inconvenient, you’re not. An ally must always remain an ally. Russia's response was as follows. Russia does not see Armenia as an ally in the issues related to Azerbaijan and Türkiye. Armenia has already received this answer. The Armenian people think that talking on the street or in a gazebo and their village tricks can be suitable for the international arena. It doesn't work, running a state and gossiping are two different things,” he said.

“I can neither listen to this person [Pashinyan] nor interpret what he says because his words are constantly changing, he is constantly looking for new false excuses. Armenia is simply carrying out the West’s plan, the tasks given by the West. The West treats the Armenians as third-class people, knowing that the Armenians will always pay and that Armenia will always be a victim. The West will give us big promises and then throw us away, just like it did a hundred years ago,” he noted.

“The chief of UK’s Secret Intelligence Service meets with the Armenian leadership with a certain task. Armenia often receives instructions on how to serve the interests of other countries, oust Russia from here, and hand over everything that can be given away. There is no need to comment on Pashinyan’s words. The anti-rating is now historically high, people simply hate the Armenian current leadership,” Khachikian said.
