Pundit: EU mission in Armenia gathering info on Russian military base
Armenian political scientist Nairi Hokhikyan has commented on the creation of a new unit within the National Security Service of Armenia to control communications.
"From the viewpoint of state thinking, this is, of course, good. Only the power structures of this country should operate inside the country, but if, with [Prime Minister] Nikol's [Pashinyan] consent, "European observers" and "troops of Russian bases" are swarming in Armenia, then it will become extremely difficult to ensure the security of the country,” Caliber.Az quotes Hokhikyan as saying on his Facebook page.
According to the pundit, EU observers have arrived in Armenia since 2022 at the invitation of Pashinyan: “Officially, their goal was to monitor the border, but in fact, the observers collect extensive information about the internal security systems of Armenia and Russian troops," the political scientist wrote.
