Türkiye strengthens global military ties with port visits in Malaysia, Oman, and Pakistan
The Turkish Armed Forces continue to conduct combat training and drills to further strengthen their effectiveness and enhance the competence of their personnel, spokesperson for the Turkish National Defence Ministry Zeki Aktürk said.
According to his statement, published on the Defence Ministry's X account, the ADA-class corvette TCG BÜYÜKADA made a visit to Malaysia as part of the "17th Langkawi International Maritime, Aerospace, and Defence Exhibition" and visited the port of Oman from April 29 to May 1, per Caliber.Az.

It will also head to the port of Karachi, Pakistan, from May 4 to May 7.
Speaking at a press conference, the spokesperson reiterated that the Turkish Armed Forces continue to support allied countries, especially Cyprus, Azerbaijan, Libya, Kosovo, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Qatar, within the scope of bilateral relations and international missions, and thus make significant contributions to world security, peace and stability in a wide geography.
Moreover, within the framework of the Pakistani MİLGEM program, ASFAT and the Pakistani Defence Ministry signed a “Milestone” agreement in May 2022. As part of the program, ASFAT is the general contractor for the production of four MİLGEM corvettes for the Pakistani Navy.
Two ships are being built at the Istanbul Shipyard Command, while the other two are being constructed at the Karachi Shipyard in Pakistan. The construction of the first ship, PNS BABUR, has been completed. The Pakistani MİLGEM program is Türkiye’s first project for the export of naval platforms of such a scale.
