Putin holds sideline talks with Pakistani, Uzbek, Tajik leaders at SCO summit
Russian President Vladimir Putin held brief discussions with several regional leaders, including Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and the presidents of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Emomali Rahmon, respectively, on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Tianjin.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said that Putin had multiple contacts on the sidelines of both the SCO and SCO+ meetings, noting that he also spoke with the leaders of Vietnam. Peskov added that while these exchanges were brief, a separate bilateral meeting with Uzbekistan’s president is planned in Beijing, Caliber.Az reports via TASS.
Earlier, Putin conducted a bilateral meeting with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. According to Peskov, communication among leaders at such summits is ongoing, as they actively use these events to engage in dialogue.
