Putin: Russian forces reclaiming territories by square kilometres
Russian Armed Forces are reclaiming territories in the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict "by the square kilometre," according to President Vladimir Putin during his live broadcast.
Putin highlighted the significant progress being made along the entire front line, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
"The situation is changing drastically, as you well know. I want to confirm this. Movement is occurring along the entire front line every day. As I previously mentioned, this is not about advancing 100, 200, or 300 meters. Our fighters are reclaiming territories by the square kilometre," Putin stated.
The Russian president emphasized that troops are fighting for Russia's sovereignty across the entire line of engagement. He further pointed out that the Russian military is advancing towards achieving the primary objectives set at the outset of the "special military operation."
Putin also underlined the critical importance of sovereignty for Russia, asserting that losing it would lead to the loss of the nation's statehood. "Sovereignty must be in the hearts of the people," he said.
The president attributed much of Russia's economic growth to the strengthening of its sovereignty, signalling its pivotal role in maintaining the country's resilience.
On December 16, during a Ministry of Defence board meeting, Putin identified the country's nuclear forces as one of the most vital tools for safeguarding sovereignty. He affirmed the state's commitment to their ongoing development.
On December 19, Putin is set to summarize the year in a combined press conference and live broadcast format, where further insights into Russia's domestic and foreign policies are expected to be unveiled.
