Qatar says efforts continue to reunite Russian, Ukrainian children with families
Qatar continues its mediation efforts aimed at reuniting Russian and Ukrainian children with their families despite the lack of public updates in recent months, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Majed bin Mohammed Al-Ansari said in comments to TASS.
“These efforts are certainly continuing. There may not have been any announcements recently, but Qatar remains committed to its work and continues its efforts in this area,” Al-Ansari said during a briefing.
He recalled that, with Doha’s mediation, more than 100 children have already been reunited with their relatives.
“Qatar is proud to play such a role in one of the world’s most significant conflicts today,” the diplomat said.
According to Al-Ansari, for each of these children, “the story of war begins and ends with reunification with their family.”
