Qatari investors may use cooperation opportunities in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan is located at the intersection of important transport hubs and has become a transit hub, Qatari investors can take advantage of this opportunity.

The issues of strengthening economic ties between the two countries, encouraging of joint investments with the Azerbaijan Investment Holding and the Azerbaijan Investment Company, expanding of cooperation in the field of renewable energy sources were discussed, Report informs citing a statement made at the meeting of Azerbaijani Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov and CEO of the Qatar Investment Authority Mansoor Bin Ebrahim Al- Mahmoud.

An increase in mutual investments would contribute to the development of other industries.

The success achieved under the leadership of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, the rapid development of Azerbaijan-Qatar cooperation, the importance of high-level visits in expanding ties were highlighted at a meeting with Prime Minister and Minister of Internal Affairs of Qatar, Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani.

The sides discussed the possibilities of expanding cooperation between the two countries in energy, transport, logistics and other sectors of the economy.

The views on the development of bilateral ties, economic relations between Azerbaijan and Qatar, mutually beneficial cooperation, as well as strengthening of ties in investment, trade and other sectors were exchanged at a meeting with personal representative of Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani.

During the visit to Qatar, the Azerbaijani delegation also met with representatives of the Qatari Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The gratification for the initiatives to expand cooperation between the business circles of the two countries was expressed at the event.
