Religious leaders from Turkic states visit historic sites in Azerbaijan's Shusha PHOTO
The heads of religious institutions from member states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) visited historic sites in the city of Shusha as part of the first meeting of the religious leaders.
The delegation toured the city's central square, where they viewed monuments to prominent Azerbaijani cultural figures — Khurshidbanu Natavan, Uzeyir Hajibeyli and Bulbul — which were damaged by Armenian gunfire during the years of occupation, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The visitors were also briefed on Shusha's pre-war history and the reconstruction work carried out following its liberation.
The delegation visited the Creativity Centre, where they viewed the "Heydar Aliyev and Karabakh" photo exhibition, before touring Natavan's Palace, the Khan Gizi Spring, Shusha Fortress, and the Ashaghi Govhar Agha and Yukhari Govhar Agha mosques.
The visit concluded at Jidir Duzu, where the guests viewed the surrounding panorama.
