Russia claims to have intercepted 164 Ukrainian drones overnight
Russian air defence systems have destroyed and intercepted 164 Ukrainian drones over Russian regions overnight of November 1 to 2, the Russian Ministry of Defence said.
The ministry said that the highest number of drones—39—were shot down over the Black Sea, followed by 32 over Krasnodar Krai and 26 over Crimea, Caliber.Az reports.
Bryansk region saw 20 drones intercepted, while Volgograd, Rostov, and Oryol regions each had nine drones downed. Lipetsk accounted for six, Voronezh five, and the Azov Sea three. Belgorod, Kursk, and Tula regions each had two drones intercepted.
This latest operation follows a previous nighttime strike in which Russian air defence forces intercepted and destroyed 130 Ukrainian drones across multiple regions.
In that operation, which took place between 23:00 on 30 October and 08:00 on 31 October, 31 drones were shot down over Kursk, followed by Voronezh (21), Belgorod (14), Oryol, Tambov, and Tula (nine each), Lipetsk and Yaroslavl (six each), Rostov (five), Volgograd (four), Kaluga (three), Ryazan (two), and the Moscow region (one).
