Russia deploys new batch of advanced Su-35S fighter jets
A new batch of Su-35S fighter jets has officially entered service with the Russian Armed Forces, the state-owned United Aircraft Corporation (part of Rostec) announced on November 1, as per Russian media.
According to Rostec’s press service, the aircraft were handed over to the Russian Defence Ministry and have already been deployed to their designated bases.
“The aircraft manufacturers of Rostec State Corporation are steadily increasing the pace of deliveries of modern combat aircraft for the Russian Defence Ministry,” the statement said, describing the Su-35S as “the world’s most capable modern fighter.”
Rostec emphasised that production and delivery rates of fighter aircraft have accelerated, noting that the newly supplied Su-35S jets are equipped with advanced onboard systems and long-range defence capabilities.
Developed by Russia’s renowned Sukhoi Design Bureau, the Su-35S is considered one of the most advanced aircraft in service with the Russian Air Force. As a modernised version of the Su-27, the Su-35S features an upgraded airframe, powerful engines with thrust vectoring, and enhanced manoeuvrability, giving it a significant edge in aerial combat.
