Russia launches 215 drones in overnight attack on Ukraine
Russia launched a large-scale overnight drone attack against Ukraine on April 22, deploying a total of 215 strike unmanned aerial vehicles, according to information released by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Telegram.
The attack involved multiple types of drones, including Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmas models, with approximately 140 identified as Shahed drones.
According to preliminary data released by the Ukrainian military as of 08:00, air defence systems intercepted or suppressed 189 of the UAVs across the northern, southern, and eastern regions of the country.
Despite the масштаб of interceptions, Ukrainian authorities reported confirmed strikes by 24 drones across 13 separate locations. In addition, debris from downed UAVs fell in six locations, causing further damage.
Officials continue to assess the full impact of the overnight attack.
