Russia launches night strikes on Ukraine: KAB bombs on Zaporizhzhia, drones on Kyiv PHOTO / VIDEO
On the night of September 22, Russia carried out a series of strikes across Ukraine, deploying attack drones and guided bombs.
The attacks caused significant damage to infrastructure and resulted in casualties, Caliber.Az reports, citing Ukrainian media.
Since the evening of 21 September, Russian “Shahed” drones targeted Ukraine, with Kyiv and Sumy regions being hit the hardest. In the early hours of Monday, KAB guided bombs struck Zaporizhzhia, with Russia carrying out five aerial bomb attacks in total.
In Kyiv region, Boryspil district was hit, causing fires in private homes and a three-storey residential building, leaving one person injured. Vyshhorod and Fastiv districts also experienced fires, while in Obukhiv district debris from a downed drone fell onto a multi-storey unoccupied building.
In Zaporizhzhia, a civilian infrastructure facility was struck, and several vehicles were destroyed or damaged. Local authorities reported the use of five KAB bombs. Two people were killed, and recovery operations are ongoing. In total, 15 multi-storey buildings, 10 private houses, and several non-residential structures were damaged.
In the Sumy region, Russian drones also struck one of the districts. Regional military authorities confirmed that all emergency services are working on site and the area is being surveyed.
