Russia reports shooting down 25 Ukrainian drones overnight

On the night of December 27 to 28, Russian military forces destroyed 25 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles over six regions of Russia, the Russian Ministry of Defence said.

According to the ministry, 12 drones were neutralised over the Samara region, three each over Belgorod, Kursk, and Saratov regions, and two each over Volgograd and Rostov regions.

This follows a similar incident on the night of December 26 to 27, when Russian air defence systems shot down seven Ukrainian UAVs over southern Russia. According to the ministry, four drones were intercepted over Krasnodar Krai and three over the Republic of Adygea, all of them fixed-wing UAVs.
