Russia's Wildberries says only basic mobile phones allowed at logistics sites

Wildberries has said its policy on mobile phones at its logistics facilities remains unchanged, clarifying that employees are still permitted to bring only basic mobile phones without cameras onto the premises as part of existing security measures.

The statement, issued by the press service of the merged company Wildberries and Russ (RWB) and reported by Russian media on Monday (August 3), followed media reports claiming that workers at Wildberries logistics centres had been newly banned from bringing smartphones to work.

RWB said there had been no change to the rules, stressing that only basic mobile phones without cameras are allowed on site in line with established security requirements.

"The procedures in place at our facilities remain unchanged: basic mobile phones not equipped with a camera are, as before, permitted in accordance with established security requirements," the company said.

According to RWB, the restrictions are intended to prevent unauthorised photography and video recording at its logistics facilities and form part of broader measures to protect operational security.
