Russia says air defences downed 148 Ukrainian drones overnight
Russia's air defence forces intercepted and destroyed 148 Ukrainian drones during a large-scale overnight attack spanning multiple regions, the Russian Defence Ministry said on June 2.
According to the ministry, the drones were shot down between 8:00 p.m. Moscow time on June 1 and 7:00 a.m. on June 2, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
The interceptions took place over the regions of Belgorod, Bryansk, Volgograd, Kursk, Oryol, Rostov, and Smolensk, as well as over the Krasnodar territory. Russian air defences also engaged drones over the waters of the Azov and Black Seas, the ministry said.
The Defence Ministry described the unmanned aircraft as fixed-wing, or aircraft-type, drones. It did not provide details on casualties, damage, or whether any of the drones reached their intended targets.
