Russia sends additional humanitarian aid to Iran via Azerbaijan PHOTO
Another shipment of Russian humanitarian aid has arrived at the South-Astara customs post in Azerbaijan, bound for Iran.
The convoy, consisting of seven vehicles, will continue its journey via the International North–South Transport Corridor (INSTC) after completing customs inspections, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
Earlier on March 27, a Russian cargo train carrying more than 300 tonnes of humanitarian supplies—operated by the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations—departed from the Astara border crossing en route to Iran.
The aid deliveries follow coordinated efforts between Russia and Azerbaijan. On March 11, Russian President Vladimir Putin thanked Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in a phone call for facilitating the evacuation of Russian citizens from Iran and for assisting with the transit of humanitarian aid through Azerbaijani territory.
