Russia shoots down 75 Ukrainian drones overnight
Russia’s air defence systems intercepted and destroyed 75 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles overnight, the Russian Ministry of Defence said.
According to the ministry’s official Telegram channel, the Armed Forces of Ukraine used fixed-wing–type drones in the attacks, Caliber.Az reports.
The largest number of aerial targets—24 drones—was neutralised over Russia’s Krasnodar region. Another 23 drones were intercepted over Crimea, six over the Black Sea, and five in the Belgorod region.
Four drones were shot down in the Astrakhan region, three each over the Sea of Azov and the Kursk region, and two each in the Bryansk and Voronezh regions. Single drones were also downed over Volgograd, Rostov, and Tambov regions.
On the morning of January 28, the operational headquarters of Russia’s Krasnodar region reported that debris from downed Ukrainian drones damaged four private houses in the Seversky district. Windows were shattered in two buildings in the village of Svobodny.
In one building in the village of Severskaya, the roof, floor, and ceiling were damaged, while in another, windows were shattered. No casualties were reported. Emergency services were dispatched to the sites.
