Russian air defences down 32 Ukrainian drones in latest counterattack
Russian air defence systems destroyed 32 Ukrainian drones over Russian territory on December 11, the Russian Ministry of Defence said.
All drones were intercepted and destroyed between 08:00 and 14:00 Moscow time, Caliber.Az reports.
“On-duty air defence systems destroyed and intercepted 32 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles of the aircraft type,” the ministry stated on its Telegram channel.
The breakdown of the interceptions includes: 13 drones over the Bryansk region, 10 over the Moscow region, four over Kaluga, three over Tula, and two over Kursk.
In safety response, Moscow airports (Domodedovo, Vnukovo, Zhukovsky) imposed temporary flight restrictions for about 90 minutes; several flights were diverted or delayed.
Earlier today, Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin confirmed “several drones were destroyed on approach to the capital” overnight and in the morning.
