Russian bloggers’ income drops drastically
Russian bloggers’ revenues slumped by 80 per cent on annual basis as of December this year.
The statement came from Irina Kobelyatskaya, founder of the LVL UP communication agency, Izvestia newspaper reports.
"This applies to areas dominated by foreign advertisers - for example, in the fashion industry, information technology, [and] games. Here, budget losses can reach up to 80 per cent," Kobelyatskaya said.
Damir Feyzullov, Director of digital and social media at “PR Partner” company, said bloggers' revenues have also fallen because of monetisation cut-offs, blocked social networks, and difficulties with money transfers between countries.
As Valentin Petukhov, founder of the YouTube channel Wylsacom (10.2 million subscribers), noted in a conversation with the newspaper that he receives on average 10 times less money from the video hosting service than before. According to him, April and March were particularly financially unsuccessful.
