Russian Defence Ministry reports destruction of 46 Ukrainian drones
The Russian Defence Ministry has announced that its air defence systems successfully intercepted and destroyed 46 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the Ukrainian Armed Forces over various regions of Russia last night.
Some 18 Ukrainian drones were downed over the Bryansk region, while 11 were destroyed in the Kursk region, Caliber.Az reports citing the ministry.
Seven drones were shot down over Kaluga, five over Tula, and three over Belgorod. Additionally, two drones were downed over the Voronezh region.
The ministry did not specify any reported damages or casualties in connection with the intercepted UAVs.
A Ukrainian UAV attack occurred a day before in the town of Lyudinovo, located in Russia's Kaluga region, triggering a fire at an industrial enterprise. Governor Vladislav Shapsha reported that, according to preliminary information, no casualties were reported as a result of the attack.
This incident follows previous claims by the United States that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have begun utilizing "dragon drones," which are reportedly equipped with red-hot metal. These advanced drones are believed to be a new type of weaponry employed in the ongoing conflict, adding a further dimension to the technological warfare between Russia and Ukraine.
