An attack by a Russian drone has caused a fire at an administrative building in Ukraine’s north-eastern Kharkiv region, while separate strikes across the Sumy region left at least 23 people injured over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian emergency services said.
In the Kharkiv region, a drone struck an administrative building in the settlement of Velykyi Burluk in the Kupiansk district overnight on April 11, according to the State Emergency Service.
The impact sparked a fire that damaged structural elements over an area of around 60 square metres. No fatalities or injuries were reported. Emergency crews, including rescue units, a medical team and a local response officer, were deployed to the scene.
Meanwhile, in the Sumy Oblast, authorities reported 33 strikes across 23 settlements in the past day, with 23 people injured overall.
In the regional capital Sumy, 17 people were wounded, including a 14-year-old child. Residential buildings, a kindergarten, vehicles and commercial infrastructure were damaged, with windows shattered at one industrial site, officials said.
In Konotop, four civilians were injured, including two women and two men, amid damage to residential, administrative and commercial facilities, as well as utilities and transport infrastructure.
Additional incidents were reported in other parts of the region. In the village of Krovne, a 46-year-old man was injured when a cargo vehicle was damaged. In Seryedyna-Buda, a 55-year-old woman was wounded, and a private home destroyed. In Romny, electrical equipment at a substation was damaged.
