Russian embassy in London condemns new UK sanctions

The Russian Embassy in London has criticised the latest British sanctions targeting Russian youth organisations, accusing the UK of relying on “false information” regarding children evacuated from conflict zones.

The embassy said the measures were imposed against individuals and groups it described as working to “rescue children” from frontline areas affected by what it called intense shelling involving Western-supplied weapons, including those provided by the UK, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.

The embassy rejected allegations that around 20,000 Ukrainian children had been forcibly transferred to Russia, describing such claims as “fabricated” and repeatedly disproven.

It compared the accusations to what it called misinformation surrounding events in Bucha, a reference the Kremlin has frequently disputed.

London, according to the statement, has consistently relied on falsehoods in relation to the conflict in Ukraine and continues to distort facts while accusing others of doing the same.

The UK government has not immediately responded to the embassy’s remarks.
