Russian law enforcement officers detain Yabloko party lawmaker

Russian law enforcement officers have detained Yekaterinburg City Duma lawmaker Konstantin Kiselev of the Yabloko party.

According to eyewitnesses, Russian law enforcement officers had been waiting for him since the morning, and no charges were presented against him, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.

A resident said the officers arrived in an unmarked Lada and Konstantin was detained right outside their entrance.

“They had been waiting since early morning,” the resident noted.

Surveillance footage will become available tomorrow. Information about the reasons for the detention and the progress of the investigation is still being clarified. Further details will be reported later.

Kiselev is a candidate of philosophical sciences and heads the Yabloko faction in the Yekaterinburg City Duma. He also heads the regional group of Yabloko’s candidate list for the State Duma elections.

Law enforcement officers in Moscow also reportedly detained Anna Shatunovskaya-Burno, a Yabloko candidate for the State Duma. According to the party’s press service, she is running in the Preobrazhensky single-member constituency No. 204.
