Russian nighttime attack on Kyiv damages synagogue, residential building VIDEO
A synagogue building and a nearby residential house were damaged during a Russian night attack on Kyiv’s Podil district, Chief Rabbi of Ukraine, Moshe Asman.
Rabbi Asman shared images of the aftermath, noting that the strike occurred close to the area where people usually gather for prayer, Caliber.Az reports, citing Ukrainian media.
As a reminder, on the night of October 21 to 22, Kyiv came under attack by Russian drones and missiles, resulting in 29 people injured, including five children, Ukrainian authorities stated. All victims received the necessary medical care.
Air raid alerts were issued multiple times in Kyiv and surrounding regions on the night of October 23.
During the first attack, drones targeted the city. In Podil, drone debris fell onto the roof of a residential building, while at another location, debris landed near another home. In the Obolonskyi district, a residential building was damaged by drone fragments, and in Desnianskyi, a multi-apartment building sustained damage, with several people injured during the attack.
The second air raid alert was issued due to the threat of ballistic missile strikes. The Ukrainian Air Forces quickly clarified that a high-speed target was heading toward the city of Kremenchuk. Residents were urged to immediately move to safe locations and follow civil defence instructions until the threat had passed.
Residents of Kyiv whose property was damaged in the attacks are eligible to receive assistance through the “eOpora” chat-bot, according to the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration on Telegram.
