Russian peacekeepers close another post in Karabakh
Russian peacekeepers, temporarily stationed in Azerbaijan’s Karabakh region, have closed another observation post in the Asgaran region over the past 24 hours.
No ceasefire violations were recorded in the area of responsibility of the Russian peacekeeping contingent during the day, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Russian Ministry of Defence.
The Ministry’s statement notes that a total of eight observation posts and 16 temporary observation posts of Russian peacekeepers have been closed since September 19, 2023.
After Azerbaijan liberated its territories from Armenian occupation during the 44-day Second Karabakh War, a Russian peacekeepers contingent was deployed on these lands according to the tripartite statement signed between the leaders of Azerbaijan, Russia and Armenia on November 10, 2020.
